This high resolution regional model configuration for the Gulf of Mexico covers the same domain as the 1/25 degree GoM-HYCOM, but at double the grid resolution (1/50 degree, about 1.8 km; see more attributes below). It is fully nested in global HYCOM (GLB) and it is using daily freshwater inputs for a large number of GoM rivers. It uses the data assimilation scheme developed in collaboration with the Ocean Modeling and OSSE Center (OMOC). This model is used for Gulf of Mexico regional studies and forecasts.
